I know we are hitting close to May 9 levels of indie releases this week with Blue Prince, Promise Mascot Agency, Monaco, and more. Then to top that all off, we had a festival of smaller titles in the Triple-I Initiative’s showcase. So, that’s already a lot to keep track of, but indie games never stop. If you have one to spare from all the games you’re playing this week, be sure to keep your eye out for these amazing experiences.

Haste
It’s hard to find a better name for a game out there. Haste is all about inducing the thrill of speed and it feels great doing it. This indie released last week and deserves a whole heck of a lot more love. Hopefully, it can out-race the looming shadow of this week’s big hits.
Haste is a high-speed third-person running game, set in a collapsing universe. Race through a variety of worlds, master your movement and use items and abilities to progress through each level before it falls apart around you. The game consists of ten Shards, each featuring a collection of procedurally generated levels that must be completed without fail to unlock the next. You’ll encounter challenges and characters on your journey, seeking answers about what lies behind the destruction, and how to escape it!

Vaporwave Pinball
Similarly fighting the wave of April 10’s popularity is Vaporwave Pinball, a wonderful mix of slightly unsettling and oddly compelling. The game challenges players to beat a series of pinball games that just happen to appear in spaces that would happily fit in The Back Rooms.
Escape the real world for a few minutes (or a few hours) and play lo-fi digital pinball in a selection of chill, cozy, liminal locations. Try to beat high scores & unlock up to 5 tables, each one offering something new. Vaporwave Pinball is the perfect “virtual holiday” destination.

Tiny Garden
Y’all remember Polly Pocket – and more specifically the doll’s clamshell-like dwelling? Well, Tiny Garden is bringing all those memories back as it allows players to build up a garden in a colorful shell you can close up and slip into your virtual pocket when you’re done.
Tiny Garden is a soothing, stress-free mix of farming, puzzles, and discovery—all inside a charming toy. Grow a variety of plants, from colourful vegetables to whimsical flowers, each with its own unique mechanics waiting to be uncovered. As your garden flourishes, trade your harvests for fun, toy furniture, and design your very own magical space.
