Following an extended eight-hour demo available during the latest Steam Next Fest, survival RPG Enshrouded is set to be playable once again in the coming months. However, this time, it won’t be in demo form. Developer Keen Games has announced Enshrouded will enter Steam Early Access on January 24, 2024, with console versions and a full launch planned for a later time.
During Steam Next Fest in October, Enshrouded was consistently at the top of the most-played list for available demos. A press release announcing the release date also states the game did very well with concurrent players and was added to many Steam users’ wishlists, claiming to be number one in both categories when the event ended.
Enshrouded is a multiplayer RPG with survival and crafting elements set in a world where a dangerous mist has taken hold of much of the land. Players have to scavenge for materials, terraform the landscape, and create base camps, weapons, and other helpful goods to delve into the treacherous areas enshrouded in fog (get it?) to traverse further in the world, slay monsters, and procure desirable items.
Our Editor-in-Chief, Jill Grodt, wrote a preview of the game earlier this year. To get a better idea of what it’s like to explore the world of Enshrouded, you can read about it here.
