Put on a party hat and break out the confetti because The Indie Informer is one year old! This day marks the site’s official announcement, and the start to my uncertain passion project. But it didn’t stay mine — or uncertain — for long.
I’m still humbled by the cascade of love and support the site’s received over its first year. That includes amazing readers, kickass Patreon supporters, wonderful PR reps, developers who trusted me with their titles, podcasters who invited me on their shows, Metacritic’s helpful staff, news writer extraordinaire and all-around fantastic person John Carson, my brilliant co-conspirators on The Indie Council, the GI extended crew, everyone who has ever dropped into a stream or watched a YouTube video or chatted it up in the Discord, and literally anyone that has made The Indie Informer the amazing place it is.
None of this happens without you, and I’m — from the depths of my heart — grateful to all of you.
Now to the celebrating! It only seems fitting to have a birthday party to mark this awesome moment. So, my typical Friday stream on Twitch is going to be a blowout. From 11am to 5pm PT, I’m going to party in the best possible way: With Indies. I have a pile of newly released indies to unwrap and show off on stream, and I’d love for you to join me!
But if you can’t wait until Friday for indie goodness, feel free to enjoy this retrospective look at The Indie Informer’s first year:
