It’s hard to talk about anything but Microsoft today following the leak of documents tied to the company’s legal battle with the FTC to purchase mega-publisher Activision-Blizzard. However, amid the newly uncovered timelines for console refreshes, new controllers, and years-long roadmaps, Xbox has soldiered on with its present-day news cycle, though in a much more controlled manner.

We’re two-thirds of the way through September, and Game Pass still has a lot left in the tank, most of which is fueled by indies. Announced today is a murder’s row of additions to Xbox’s subscription service that can keep anyone busy well into the spooky weeks of October. Make sure to clear some storage on your console or PC for these upcoming bangers:
- Lies of P – Day One – Available now
- Party Animals – Day One – September 20
- Payday 3 – Day One – September 21
- Cocoon – Day One – September 29
- Gotham Knights – October 3
- The Lamplighter’s League – Day One – October 3
Okay, you caught us. Not everything is from September, but you’ll still forget it’s October for the first few days of the month anyway.
The end of September is also when we say goodbye to a handful of games that will leave Game Pass. You have until September 30 to download and play the following games:
- Beacon Pines
- Despot’s Game
- Last Call BBS
- Moonscars
- Outriders
- Prodeus
- Weird West
These games won’t be gone forever. You can always pay money to buy them the old-fashioned way, and even at a 20% discount for a limited time.

There’s plenty to play as autumn looms. If you’d like to know more about Cocoon, read our Summer Game Fest preview, in which Jill declares it the game of the show. Make sure it’s on your radar and your gaming platform of choice next week.
