A Friending Sim For History Nerds – Mythwrecked: Ambrosia Island

New reveals are fun, but when a game pops up that messes with ancient Greek mythology, I’m on board immediately. And it doesn’t hurt that newly announced Mythwrecked (excellent name even if my autocorrect doesn’t like it) is being developed by the creators of Röki, which didn’t get enough love when it released back in 2020.

While the set up looks like a dating sim, the game is actually centered around restoring the Greek gods’ memories and finding out what happen to make them disappear. Getting shipwrecked on a gorgeous, sunny island sounds like a good deal. Let me make friends with modern interpretations of mythology, and you can’t keep me away. Watch the trailer below to see if this upcoming indie is sending you the right vibes:

The video is missing some of my favorite deities (where are Artemis, her twin, and Dionysus?), but I’m guessing they are going to be revealed at some point down the line. The game’s description mentions a few gods may be harder to find than others, so maybe I’ll have to put in the work to see what fun form they take.

Besides a vague “coming soon,” there’s no word on when to expect Mythwrecked: Ambrosia Island, but I’ll be happy when I can add it to my list of upcoming indie game releases.
